MARC A. LEVINSON, Esq.

Marc Levinson is a partner in Orrick, Herrington & Sutcliffe LLP, resident in its Sacramento office. His practice always has been limited to insolvency planning, to bankruptcy cases and to workouts and other out-of-court reorganizations. Current and recent clients include the City of Vallejo, California, a debtor in a high profile chapter 9 case, several large banks in real estate workouts and bankruptcy cases, a plan agent in a confirmed chapter 11 case, and the California State Controller's Office in bankruptcy cases pending in New York and Virginia. He has served as an examiner in a cases in Oakland and in Sacramento.

Mr. Levinson is a Member of the Board of Directors of the of the American College of Bankruptcy, formerly having served as Ninth Circuit Regent. He is a past president of both the California Bankruptcy Forum and the Sacramento Valley Bankruptcy Forum. Mr. Levinson received his B.A. in English from UCLA in 1970, and his J.D. from the U.C. Davis School of Law in 1973, where he was Editor-in-Chief of the Law Review. He served as a law clerk for Chief Justice Donald R. Wright of the California Supreme Court (1973-74) and for Judge William H. Orrick, Jr. of the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California (1974-75). Mr. Levinson is a frequent speaker on bankruptcy-related topics, particularly those relating to chapter 9 issues.
