JONATHAN M. LANDERS,
Esq.
Jonathan M. Landers, age 56, joined the
firm of Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher LLP in 1986
as the founding partner of its San Francisco
office. He graduated from Colgate University
where he was elected to Phi Beta Kappa,
and magna cum laude from the Harvard Law
School, where he was an Editor of the Harvard
Law Review. Mr. Landers practiced in New
York City, was a Professor of Law at the
Universities of Kansas and Illinois, a Visiting
Professor of Law at the University of Chicago,
and a Visiting Scholar at the American Bar
Foundation. In 1982, Mr. Landers became
head of the Bankruptcy Group at a large
San Francisco firm. In addition to his practice,
Mr. Landers currently is a Visiting Professor
at the University of California Law School
(Boalt Hall), teaching Civil Procedure and
Lending Transactions.
Mr. Landers focuses on matters relating
to insolvency and financing transactions,
and has handled a wide diversity of workout,
asset purchase/sale, complex lending, corporate
restructuring, and bankruptcy matters.
Mr. Landers is the co-author of two books
and the author of more than 20 published
articles on the subjects of civil procedure,
bankruptcy and consumer credit, has testified
a number of times before congressional committees,
and is a frequent speaker before bar associations
and continuing legal education institutes.
Recent presentations include programs on
buying and selling distressed businesses,
lender liability, and recent bankruptcy
developments. Mr. Landers is a member of
the National Bankruptcy Conference and the
American College of Bankruptcy.
