Experience
Michael Crames is a Senior Advisor to PJSC and joined the firm in 2005. Mr. Crames spent over 40 years as an attorney specializing in corporate reorganization, bankruptcy, creditors’ and debtors’ rights and insolvency law, most recently at Kaye Scholer, LP, serving for five years as chairman of the firm’s Executive Committee and its managing partner. His prior firm, Levin & Weintraub, Crames & Edelman, merged with Kaye Scholer, Fierman, Hayes & Handler in 1990.

In his law practice, Mr. Crames has represented companies in many prominent and complex bankruptcy cases, including Integrated Health Services, Inc., Walter Industries, Inc., LTV Corporation, Johns-Manville Corporation, Dow Corning Corp., and U.S. Home Corporation. In addition, he has had major involvement in Owens Corning, Armstrong World Industries, Inc. and USG Corporation. He also represented Pennzoil in its epic battle with Texaco. Mr. Crames has regularly counseled boards of directors and management regarding their financial difficulties.
